Get your paddles ready, because the Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR)’s 17th annual Paddle Battle is coming to the river on Saturday, September 27!
Every year during our annual Paddle Battle, friends and river folks paddle downstream from Petersburg to Hopewell on the scenic Appomattox River. During this year’s event on September 27, you’ll have the choice of a 10-mile Race or a 10-mile Leisure Paddle, so there’s something for everybody!
REGISTRATION INCLUDES (*depending on your selection):
A shuttle ride to and from parking areas*
Morning snacks*
Lunch
Paddle Battle t-shirt*
Wristband
And handcrafted awards (for our race winners)*
Once you’ve finished your paddle, you can enjoy a scenic view at the Hopewell City Marina while you eat your provided lunch, browse our new selection of merchandise, and celebrate the day with your fellow paddlers. We offer discounted registration for folks 17 years old and younger, military members & first responders, and educators.
Your registration helps support our ongoing work to protect the Appomattox River and preserve the ecosystem that helps keep it healthy and enjoyable for ALL.
