TREASURED VIEWS
FOLAR is working with Scenic Virginia on a project to capture all of the best, most beautiful scenic views along the Appomattox River from the dam at Lake Chesdin to where the Appomattox River meets the James River in Hopewell. With this data, we hope to promote and protect these Treasured Views.
Additionally, we hope that this activity encourages folks with land in or around a viewshed to protect and manage their land with the viewshed in mind. As always, we serve as a resource hub and are ready to connect landowners with the resources and services they need in order to manage their land in this way. Let’s keep these views scenic!
Thanks to the Virginia Environmental Endowment (VEE) for supporting this project.
LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TREASURED VIEWS PROGRAM
Virginia is a beautiful place to be. Whether you enjoy this scenic beauty from your front porch, on daily drives, or during outdoor adventures, your favorite views are important and contribute greatly to your community’s quality of life.
Scenic Virginia is partnering with communities to identify the most Treasured Views in Virginia. With your help, Scenic Virginia will compile this information and share your community’s list of most valued scenic areas with local decision-makers and other interested parties to ensure awareness of these beloved places.
