QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS (QCDs)
Making a gift to Friends of the Lower Appomattox River with a QCD from your retirement account, or IRA rollover, may be a tax-smart way to donate. QCDs may be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year. Certain rules must be met to quality, for example, you must be 70 ½ or older to be eligible to make a QCD. Please consult your financial or tax advisor for more details. Checks may be made out to “FOLAR” and sent to 235 N Market St, Petersburg, VA 23803.
MAKE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL / ESTATE PLANS
By naming Friends of the Lower Appomattox River as a beneficiary of your estate plans through a will, trust, retirement plan, or insurance policy, you leave a conservation legacy by making the world a healthier place for future generations. EMPLOYER MATCHING GIFTS
An easy way to double your contribution to Friends of the Lower Appomattox River is to ask your employer if they will match your gift. Please ask your employer for a matching gift form. Then, fill in your portion, send it to us, and we’ll do the rest. Please keep in mind that many employers will also match gifts even if you are now retired.
