Friends,
We’re reaching out with an urgent request—one that directly impacts our Appomattox River community.
Recent federal funding pauses have created an urgent crisis for nonprofits like ours, putting vital programs at risk. FOLAR now faces a critical financial shortfall, threatening our work to protect the Appomattox River – our drinking water source – and the native habitat that helps keep it healthy. Without immediate support, these essential programs will be endangered:
- Stewardship Saturdays – Mobilizing volunteers and supporters like you to help us do the ongoing hands-on work necessary to keep our river clean and protect its greenway.
- Invasive Plant Management Training – Increasing the beneficial impact of volunteer stewardship by empowering local leaders to further the effective protection of our green spaces.
- Appomattox River Trail Development – Advancing and coordinating regional private and public resources to continue progress on a vital community connection and path to health & wellness, conservation, and prosperity.
For more than 20 years, we’ve provided key services that help educate and empower students, expand local public services, and combat the consistent threats our river faces as a natural resource. This funding pause threatens to disrupt these vital services just when they’re needed most.
We need to quickly raise $100,000 to keep our programs running. Every donation—large or small—ensures that we continue delivering our life -improving programs without interruption.
Your support will help save trees and native plant communities, restore habitat that will improve water quality, and engage and educate community members.
Can you donate today? If you want clean, healthy, accessible waterways, and trails and parks for future generations, please give to FOLAR now.
Together, we can move our community forward and ensure the Appomattox River continues to thrive.
