WHAT ARE THE “APPOMATTOX RIVER TRAIL EXPERIENCES?”

These Experience Packages offer you the ability to enjoy all that the Appomattox River and its community has to offer while also benefitting FOLAR!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  1. How much should I contribute?
    • Each Experience Package has a required ‘minimum contribution’ amount to take part in the Experience and receive any associated add-ons.
    • You are welcome to donate more than the minimum contribution is listed as.
  2. Can I book more than one spot?
    • If an Experience Package has more than one spot available, you are welcome to contribute to cover any number of spots by editing the quantity of tickets you are purchasing. You can have a spouse/friend join you or give the Experience Package as a gift.
  3. What else do I need to know?
    • Spots are first-come, first-served, especially for the limited capacity Experiences. So, if there is an Experience you are especially interested in, hurry to sign up!
    • Every Package contains a variety of experiential offerings, so there is something for everybody! Some Packages contain a scheduled Experience while others contain Independent Experiences, or both combined so pay attention to any date/time specifications.

5 contributors have the opportunity to experience some of the most incredible historic sites in the Tri-Cities! This Experience includes a tour ticket for Weston Manor, a tour ticket for Old Brick House, and a tour ticket for the Violet Bank Museum. Contributors can experience Weston Manor, Old Brick House, and the Violet Bank Museum on their own time.

 

EACH CONTRIBUTOR/REGISTRANT RECEIVES:

  • 1 tour ticket for Weston Manor (self-scheduled)

This is your chance to experience the Appomattox River in one of our favorite ways: by kayak! 10 folks will receive a voucher coupon code to rent one of the kayaks and equipment from the Rent.Fun station for two hours at the Appomattox River Regional Park in Prince George. Each contributor will also receive a FOLAR dry bag and Paddle Battle hat.

 

EACH CONTRIBUTOR/REGISTRANT RECEIVES:

  • 1 voucher to rent a kayak at the Appomattox River Regional Park kayak station for two hours (self-scheduled)

The Lamb Center for Arts and Healing have partnered with us to offer an opportunity for mindfulness and creative expression for 5 contributors! Each contributor receives one full art kit supplied by Lamb Arts (includes sketch pad, drawing supplies, and more), a copy of Writing the Land: Virginia (a poetry anthology that FOLAR was featured in), a FOLAR sticker, and one of FOLAR’s ‘River Oats’ Prints made by fellow staff member and artist, Elise.

 

EACH CONTRIBUTOR/REGISTRANT RECEIVES:

  • 1 full art kit with sketch book, coloring pencils, and more provided by the Lamb Center for Arts and Healing to help guide your own meditative and creative experience (self-scheduled)
  • 1 copy of Writing the Land: Virginia
  • 1 of FOLAR’s ‘River Oats’ prints made by fellow staff member, Elise
  • 1 FOLAR sticker
