If you build biking and walking trails, will they come? We can answer with a resounding “YES” because of volunteers like you who count people walking and biking on the Appomattox River Trail.

WHAT ARE TRAIL COUNTS? Trail Counts are biannual counts conducted along the Appomattox River Trail. Supported by volunteers like you, this effort gathers valuable data about biking and walking activity to improve planning and design of future trails.
HOW IT WORKS. Volunteers choose a day and location from the list of sites and then count the number of people walking and biking along their trail section for a 2-hour period.
DATES: September 24 and 26
TIMES: 10:00am – 12 noon or 4:00pm – 6:00pm
