Appomattox Regional Riverside Park 5K TRAIL RUN 
Saturday, April 17, 2021

The Prince George County Parks & Recreation is partnering with the TriCities Roadrunners to hold its 5TH Annual 5K Trail Run. Participants at all levels are encouraged to come out. All profit and donations will benefit FOLAR and the Special Olympics. The event will follow COVID safety protocols and be held rain or shine. More Information at FOLAR-VA.ORG or REGISTER at


TBD: 22nd JRAC Annual Regional River Clean-up – Saturday, September 2021

Join the regional clean-up of the James River and its tributaries (Appomattox). FOLAR volunteers will meet at two sites along the river – Patton Park in Petersburg and the Hopewell Marina.  Patton Park will be a “Self-Directed” site. Volunteers will bring their own bags and clean trash from the Park and shoreline area – sending selfies of their great work! Volunteers will also have an opportunity to work with FOLAR volunteers to clean up around the historic mill arches further west along the Trail in Petersburg. Please inquire about mill clean-up at  At the Hopewell City Marina you have an opportunity to go out on a guided kayak route to clean-up. Spaces are limited so register right away!
