Public Meeting to gather input for Appomattox Riverside/Ferndale Park and trails masterplan on November 18th at Ferndale Park
FOLAR is hosting a public community workshop to receive input from the public for park and trail master planning for the Appomattox Riverside/Ferndale Park that is being developed to guide FOLAR and local communities in enhancing the park and trail along the Appomattox River. The workshop be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Appomattox Riverside/Ferndale Park, Large Picnic Shelter, 24909 Ferndale Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803.
FOLAR has contracted with, Land Planning & Design Associates (LPDA) to prepare the master plan with input from the community. LPDA representatives will facilitate the workshop.
This master planning effort is intended to engage families and individuals from local communities along the riverside park area, including the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie and the city of Petersburg. Visitor input is welcome as well. There will be an additional public meeting in 2022 to present the recommendations and draft plans.

This master planning project is made possible through a grant from The Cameron Foundation, which strives to transform the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties into a healthy, vibrant and economically vital region by strategically leveraging resources for community impact.
