The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly developing situation. For the most up-to-date information, check resources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) regularly.
Parks and trails are open and you are encouraged to go outside and
walk, bike, or run.
CLICK HERE for a list of access points along the Appomattox River. Be sure to check local government websites for closings and/or restrictions.
Be sure to refrain from visiting if you are sick and/or experiencing symptoms consistent with the COVID-19 infection; and
Follow social distancing guidelines during all visits by keeping a distance of 6 feet or more between you and other guests.
When you go out to walk, bike, or run, take a bag and some gloves and pick up any trash you see. We must all work together to keep our parks and trails clean and green and our river pristine!
Protecting the special places you love is the reason why the Friends of the Lower Appomattox River exists and what we are working daily to achieve and we need your help. Every gift makes a difference. Donations of any size are welcome and greatly appreciated! Just like every mile of trail adds up, so too does every gift.
